About this blog

I am tired of listening to others who have made it, not because I lack the ability to live vicariously, but because I think we can learn as much, if not more, from those who haven’t made it and may never do so. And, what’s more it could be a lot more fun to get to listen to those who are actually living their struggles!

I believe it is more important for me and others like me to learn from each other than some guy who was like us fifty years ago and probably does not remember what he had to do when he lost his inspiration or fear overwhelmed or when he had no money to pay the rent.

My aim is to share with others how I get through life without money, with insecurity, lack of confidence, fear and other things that make up our lives. And, how I still manage to squeeze out enough for each day to be happy, excited, calm, alive and creative.

You might have sensed that this is not a blog about peddling hope but rather about quashing self-indulgence. This is not a ‘get rich in five steps’ or ‘be young forever’ kind of thing (Deepak Chopra, no relation of mine btw, eat your heart out). The spirit behind this blog is to live with oneself in the best possible way whatever one has or doesn’t have! No secrets here, just reminders.

I am an aspiring writer interested in Jungian psychology, Romanticism, existentialism, Buddhism and spiritualism, Tennis and sufi poetry and its popular avatars. My favourite writers are Montaigne, Nietzsche, Dostoevsky, Henry Miller, V.S. Naipaul, D.H. Lawrence and some others…

I nominated you for The Sunshine Award if you want it, I posted a link to your blog in my most recent post!

    • Thank you Amy. I feel obliged to post something new just so that you can read it. When Henry Miller came under fire many years ago for his Tropic books, he famously said that he only needed one good reader. I too just need one person to keep me going and sometimes that person is me. But it is so wonderful to find that one’s writing is appreciated by a fellow traveller…
oh btw I would love to have the award 🙂 and my next blog, whenever it strikes me, is dedicated to you.
